The Best of KBIS
February 19, 2015Remodeling Challenges & Contingencies: An Interview with Tom Pellegrin, Owner, Third Coast Builders
March 5, 2015There was no shortage of amazing products, trends, and innovative ideas on display at KBIS 2015 in Las Vegas. From the Thermador Concept Kitchen to Maria’s gallery of iPhone favorites, we are as inspired as ever by our time at the conference and we are already looking forward to KBIS 2016!
Before we move on to some new topics for March, we wanted to share the last of Maria’s favorites from her trip to Las Vegas last month.
High-Tech Toys
One of Maria’s favorites also won big in the Best of KBIS awards; the LG Hausys TechTop features embedded surface technology for wireless charging, and won Best of Show at this year’s conference. No cords or cables—simply place your phone on the charging station and voila!
The Flush IQ Toilet by Delta comes with more bells and whistles than any toilet that has come before! Overflow protection, touch-free flush, leak sensors, and an ADA-compliant chair height—and that’s just for starters. You may never have a clog, leak, or overflow ever again.
Surface Areas
Dekton by Cosentino isn’t the only new household surface in town, and at KBIS it wasn’t just the high-tech surfaces that created a buzz among the crowd. The Formica® Laminate Jonathan Adler collection was both amazing and affordable. “You would never think it was Formica!” exclaimed Maria, who loved the bold and modern designs that Adler brought to the famed brand.
Aging-in-Place
One of the most impressive items we saw was the ToilèChic bathroom chair. Both simple and incredibly advanced, the chair ingeniously—and beautifully—camouflages the toilet inside. The ToilèChic chair can be proudly displayed in any living room, allowing aging family members peace of mind. There are many fabric and color choices, allowing homeowners to customize the piece to seamlessly blend with existing décor.
We look forward to bringing these trends, and more, to the design table this year! Stop in to the Cabinets & Designs showroom at 4200 Westheimer, and don’t forget to follow us on Facebook, Twitter, and Houzz!
