Kitchen Renovation Wish List: Holiday Edition
November 30, 2016Holidays in Houston
December 19, 2016Right after we ring in the New Year, the Cabinets & Designs team will be traveling to Orlando to attend the Kitchen and Bath Industry Show (KBIS). This annual trip is one of our favorites, as it gives us the opportunity to see old friends, make new ones, and learn more about the hottest products and industry trends for the upcoming year.
KBIS is the voice of the kitchen and bath industry, and a place where we can go to learn, ask questions, and compare products side-by-side, while hearing from industry experts from every facet of the kitchen and bath world. From appliances to cabinetry, from flooring to accessories, KBIS is our one-stop-shop for the design, technology, and sustainability innovation that today’s homeowner requires, and which helps us deliver a superior remodeling experience.
Continuing Education
We’re looking forward once again to attending Voices From the Industry (VFTI) sessions at KBIS, which give us the chance to hear from our colleagues—industry leaders in their chosen field—and to interact on a variety of topics and trends currently influencing the kitchen and bath industry.
We’re also looking forward to the ASID presentation of the Public Broadcasting documentary, Thriving in Place: Designing Your Best Life, Now and Later. This preview screening will also include a panel discussion which is sure to be interesting.
Best of KBIS Awards
We love to pick out our personal “Best of KBIS” winners each year, but we look forward to the show’s official picks, too! It’s fun to see how accurate our guesses are—or aren’t—and it helps motivate us to see as much of the exhibitor’s floor as possible during the show.
The Exhibit Floor
Getting up-close-and-personal with new products on the exhibit floor is always on our KBIS ‘to-do’ list. Each year we find new products, new companies, and new innovations to capture our attention. In addition to seeing the latest products in working, integrated displays, we’re also excited about KBIS features like the CEDIA Smart Home Pavilion and the return of Virginia Tech’s FutureHAUS project.
